AYEI SAYRE
[HISTORY] When Ayei was a young child, he would always wonder about the world that lay beyond him. He would always stick his nose in a book filled with pictures and often imagined himself being right in the middle of it all. He loved his home and his family, but he was tired of the everyday life that he lived. Being an only child, Ayei looked greatly to his parents, and admired the pelts that they wore proud. His father had a bear's pelt, while his mother a deer's; Ayei looked forward for the day of his reckoning. When he finally turned 11, his father had sent him out alone to find his soul. This was the first time he would be alone. The forest was a dark and dangerous place, but Ayei knew that he had to continue pressing forward. After several nights' passing, Ayei eventually found himself laying on the floor, his eyes gazing straight up into the bright blue sky. It was then that he saw a large bird, it's wings stretched out and soaring across. Ayei raised his hand and clutched it tightly. That was what he wanted. He wanted freedom. He wanted to explore. At an instant, Ayei rushed back to his home as quickly as he could. He knew that his parents had wanted him to come back with his pelt, but he wanted to tell them about what he truly wanted in his life. His house was within sight, but it bothered him that the door was wide open. He couldn't hear his mother's usual rant to his father, nor his father's ferocious roar. By the time he had reached the house, it had been too late. Ayei ran out of the house as fast as he came in before falling onto his knees, barfing with the sound of his father weeping in the background. He sat on the blood stained ground for a moment, letting the hot tears roll down his face as he looked up to the skies. His father was never the same after that. Although Ayei loved his father, he could clearly see the effects of his mother's death. His father was quieter, and clung onto him tighter. Ayei swore to his father that he would get the money and move out, away from the past. His mother probably would've wanted that. He looked up to the skies once more, clutching his hand tightly.
Ayei wasn't able to get his pelt the first time out alone, and so he set out a month later to try again. However, this time, it approached him.
[PERSONALITY] Ayei has had many years since his mother's death to perfect his outer shell. One's first impression of him would be that he is quiet and collected. Although he has little respect to those he believes that is weaker than him, he greets most with open arms if they are interesting, or as a way of building a "friendship" and collect information. He is laid back and would much rather be the one who sits in the corner of a room, quietly watching over everyone. He has the tendency to get under people's skins, but he truly means no harm. Once people get to know him better, Ayei will begin to abandon his shell and become the child that he was many years ago. Although it may not look like it, he still holds a strong desire to travel and discover the unknown.
[PROFESSION] Ayei isn't necessarily the best blacksmith in the world. Even though he is slowly getting the hang of the business, he still has a lot to learn despite being an apprentice for 4 years.
Other:
[TRAVEL] Although his residence is in Tharsis with his father, he has the tendency to transform into an eagle and fly around to explore parts of the kingdom.
[WEAPON] Claws that have been inspired by the talons of his animal soul, the Harpy Eagle. Of course, he made them himself with some help (one reason why he became a blacksmith).
[SCARF] Ayei couldn't bring himself to take the head of the eagle, and instead has ripped the feathers off the the body and incorporated it into his scarf.
[MOTHER] He is over the death of his mother, and often times ponder around who could've done it. He blames the goblins since his father had never been on good terms with them, thus putting the whole species on his radar.
[LIKES] High places, fruit juices, books with pictures, stories of travel, shiny things (tries to hide this a lot)
[DISLIKES] Mines, spicy food, goblins (especially the stinky ones), picky clients.
